Brett obtained his BS in Chemistry and Microbiology from Metropolitan State University in Denver and his MPH from the University of Utah with an emphasis in Ergonomic.  He obtained his CIH in 1989 and CPE in 2002.  He has performed over 400 workplace evaluations since 1990, ranging from office environments to meatpacking facilities to warehousing operations and is a technical expert for OSHA regulatory activities in the field of ergonomics. He is a visiting instructor at the OSHA Training Institute and has lectured regularly at the University of Utah.  He has consulted with other government agencies and private industries over the last 20 years and has presented at local, national, and international conferences.

Martha D. “Marty” Shaub, CEM

 Marty has been associated with the University’s safety and health program for over 25 years, serving as its first and only Director since 1994. She has served on a number of advisory and governance boards including the Board of Delegates of the National Safety Council, and the Board of Directors of the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association and the International Association of Emergency Managers. Marty is a Certified Emergency Manager.
